Unique Weddings - Phyllis Eig

Weddings of Distinction

Stephanie and Ryan
One of the hardest decisions a bride has to make is what "kind" of a wedding she wants or what “type” of wedding or “theme” does she want to create. Most brides do know that they want to be a “Princess” on their special day, but they also want their wedding to be remembered for that something special. Phyllis Eig Associates is well known for their attention to detail in helping to create and find ways to make any event memorable. However, this particular bride did her homework and researched many of the top bridal, as well as trend magazines and came up with exactly what she wanted — a totally different look with lots of color! She wanted a party and she wanted bright, bold colors. Her ideal colors were hot pink with orange and copper undertones.

To set the tone, and the mood for this wedding, we started out with creating a multi-page invitation out of vellum sheets (sometimes called see-thru parchment). These pages were tied with 10 brightly colored ribbons. The ink color was copper and the bride and grooms names were screened into the papers in a hot pink. A copper-lined envelope was also used.

Distinctive Weddings The wedding reception itself was in a ballroom where square tables, as well as round tables were utilized to create a totally different look. All of the tables were covered with hot pink with gold embellishment silk tablecloths to the floor over a coppery orange base cloth, also to the floor. Ballroom chairs in black were used with hot pink chair cushions. To bring back the black, a black lacquer charger plate was used with an orange crush napkin folded into the shape of a tuxedo jacket and placed on the charger plate. The floral arrangements were also coordinated, using both high and low arrangements and featured lots of exotic flowers in the colors of the wedding. An abundance of live trees and plants were also utilized to create softness and a lush tropical look.

Place cards were matched to the invitation, using a hot pink stock to put the guests name on and placing it into a vellum (see-thru) envelope with the matching ribbons that were on the invitations.

Distinctive Weddings The ballroom was extraordinarily beautiful with a big punch of color. We used low lights, and a lot of up-lighting among the trees and plants. This was definitely a most unique and different type of a wedding reception where everyone truly did have a party and enjoyed the entire evening! Did people leave talking about a very special evening? They couldn't stop raving about the “different” type of everything and loved it all.

Wedding Cake (see above): A most unusual design and color for a wedding cake, as the bride chose it to go with the décor of the room. For this wedding, it was a great look and we made it blend into the entire room.
